From the couple…
“Kelsey will literally go above and beyond for anyone! She met with Darrian 2 TIMES at the location he was planning to propose prior to the actual proposal! She even hid behind a tree for like 30 mins to capture the perfect moment when he was on one knee! DEDICATION!!!! When we took our engagement photos after she made us feel so comfortable and created a perfect environment for us to be us! We laughed and cuddled and just talked and Kelsey got the perfect shots! When we got our pictures back we honestly couldn’t believe we were the ones in the picture! They depicted us perfectly like no other picture ever has! We just got our full engagement session back and had a date night designated to looking at them! We couldn’t be happier with our pictures! Wouldn’t want anyone else to be our wedding photographer! I would 15/10 recommend Kelsey to do any photography needs you have! Thanks so much Kelsey!!”
Darrian choose a beautiful 100 acreage property in Huron, South Dakota to propose to Avery and it couldn’t have been more perfect! Let me set the scene. Darrian met me at the property the evening of the proposal and drove me in a golf cart out to the spot where it was planned to go down. It was an incredibly scenic spot that overlooked the James river. Darrien left to go pick up Avery while I waited. I chilled behind a large overgrown tree in tall grass that easily scraped the back of my knees. I was on high alert because my fear of snakes was not giving me a break. About 15 minutes later I hear the golf cart getting closer and closer, my heart is racing at this point. They pull up and stop right in front of my hideout. I can feel my heart pounding in every inch of my body while I stood as still as humanly possible. Darrian tried to convince her to get out of the golf cart and walk down by the overlook, but she wasn’t buying it until he said there was a deer down there. There was no deer, but this idea was genius and worked like a charm! As he led her down to the overlook I creeped around the tree waiting for him to drop to one knee which is my signal for go time! Not long after he did just that and BOOM these two cuties got engaged! I darted out from behind my tree and began photographing the entire thing. Every bug bite and tree scratch was worth it because Avery didn’t expect a thing!
After all the hugs, tears and letting the amazing reality of what just happened set in, we took their engagement pictures!! These two were freaking CHAMPS for surviving the heat and the bug attacks! They were truly up for anything and spent the evening letting their love show! 6 years together and now they get to start their best adventure yet!
